Presentation parishioners consider ways to serve
Nearly 60 parishioners from the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Sacramento gathered October 1 to consider ways to get involved in the ONE Campaign, through their parish and throughout the community.
The group met at the home of Dave and Jennifer Leatherby, parents of Fr. Jeremy Leatherby, who leads the parish. Bishop Soto also attended the reception, sharing the ONE Campaign video and answering questions from attendees.
Presentation Parish is notably active, with dedicated ministries geared toward all segments of the congregation, including youth and children, men and women, as well as elements of liturgy and worship and charitable community outreach.
Parish members were eager to discuss ways to integrate their existing ministries and other individual efforts into the ONE Campaign’s mission and goals.
Concern over what organizations could be supported as part of the ONE Campaign’s goal of raising 50 million service hours gave Bishop Soto the opportunity to advise that congregants consider all local nonprofits supported by the parish, as well as dozens of organizations supported by the Diocese of Sacramento and identified by the ONE Campaign as those that could benefit from the time and talents of all participants.
